Events and Gatherings of BePeriod

We gather physically twice a year in destinations of relevance to our teaching. We also host week-long online gatherings open to the public:

MESSINA 2020

MESSINA 2020

In response to the current travel restrictions, BePeriod will gather for a week-long online workshop in Messina of the 16th century as painted by William Shakespeare. Shakespeare’s works have deep roots. He drew from Ancient Greek and Roman plays, and Judeo-Christian myths, and wove them into theatrical dramas. We will use the key themes of his play Much Ado About Nothing as instruction and inspiration for self-study. Each session will conclude with a practical exercise and lay the ground for the following session.

Join us for an exploration of the Renaissance, the Galleria Ufizzi’s collection of sculpture and painting, the Museo San Marco’s frescoes of Fra Angelico, the Palazzo Medici Riccardi’s mystical chapel of the Magi, and more – all on the inspiring backdrop of Florentine piazzas and alleys.

In some works of art, beauty overshadows meaning. In others, meaning outshines and compensates for lack of beauty. And in few notable works, beauty and meaning strike such a perfect balance that makes them forever significant. Florence harbors artworks of all three kinds, and serves as a perfect study ground for learning to discern between the more subjective and the more objective.

Join us for an esoteric exploration of Jerusalem, the ‘City of Peace.’ Observe the conflict between inner and outer interpretations of Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. Witness how the inner meaning that sparked these traditions is still accessible if only we know where to seek it. Experience the opportunity of learning with other fourth way students during the day and rehearsing with them at night. Use the effort, inspiration, and intensity of this gathering to experience your own ‘inner peace’…
